La guerre étant gagnée, la victoire est inutile
Il y a d’étranges déclarations de chefs militaires (US, of course) qui se succèdent concernant la situation en Afghanistan. Ces chefs proclament des victoires importantes en Afghanistan, sinon la victoire tout court. Il y a le général du Corps des Marines Richard Mills dans USA Today, le 12 janvier 2010: «U.S. forces have driven the Taliban from most towns and villages in the strategic Helmand province of Afghanistan, leaving incoming troops with the mission of holding key areas and rebuilding the economy, Marine commanders say.
